Brett Hill, Somatic Mindfulness & Communications Coach, to Host Organizational Mindfulness Podcast
Mindfulness is no longer a “nice to have,” it’s a requirement for personal and professional success, sustainability, and satisfaction.

The Institute for Organizational Mindfulness (iomindfulness.org) has engaged mindfulness coach Brett Hill, a specialist in mindful communications, to produce and host its flagship podcast – the Organizational Mindfulness Podcast.  Podcast distribution will begin late this October.

Each episode features an in-depth interview with a world-class influencer in the world of mindfulness. You’ll hear interviews with established names in mindfulness, including Dr. Ron Seigel, Sharon Salzberg, and Diana Winston. Also featured are interviews with authors, researchers, and thought leaders discussing new and emerging trends related to mindfulness and neuroscience, social justice, and organizational development.

Brett Hill, host and producer of the show, is an author, speaker, and somatic mindful communications coach helping business professionals combine mindfulness with skillful communication to enhance their personal and professional lives.

With a degree in interpersonal communication, he founded the Quest Institute meditation center in Dallas, where he taught meditation for several years.  As the field of somatic, mindfulness-based psychotherapy began to emerge, he became a student of the Hakomi method studying with the founder Ron Kurtz.  He also specializes in group dynamics, apprenticing in Matrix Leadership, a cutting-edge approach to small groups, with its founder Amina Knowlan.  In addition, he studied ecstatic dance with Gabriel Roth, contact improvisation, martial arts, and other forms of mindful movement, which added greatly to his understanding of how the mind and body work as one.

In addition to a deep history in meditation, somatic-based mindfulness, group dynamics, and mindful movement – Brett is also an accomplished technologist and public speaker.

He moved to Seattle when Microsoft asked him to him join as a Sr. Technical Evangelist. In that role, he spoke on stages worldwide at technical conferences. In addition, he has two books published by Microsoft Press and hundreds of articles online. After leaving Microsoft, his contributions to the online technical community earned him Microsoft’s prestigious “Most Valuable Professional” designation for nine years.

Now living in Bellevue, Washington, with his wife, son, and two Boston Terriers, he is now focused on a private coaching practice to help professionals explore, inhabit, and speak from what he calls “embodied authority.”

He refers to his practice as learning “The Language of Mindfulness” which is his registered trademark and the basis of a TEDx talk planned for 2022, as well as his groundbreaking new book also scheduled for release in Jan 2022.

The most popular question Brett hears is “how do I start a mindfulness practice.” To address this, Brett published a free resource online that includes an FAQ and short mindfulness meditation.

In addition, to the Organizational Mindfulness podcast, he hosts and produces The Language of Mindfulness podcast with interviews and conversations on topics such as “Can Mindfulness Meditation be Harmful,” “You are not Your Story,” and “Creating Freedom.”

For professionals interested in learning how to connect authentically, speak powerfully, and listen deeply, Brett has a limited number of 1:1 coaching sessions available.  He offers a free introductory session to explore working together. (https://calendly.com/mindfulguy/insightcall.)
